Windsor Park In
common with most UK cities which grew up in Victorian times, Belfast
has a number of football grounds encased in its urban fabric. A number
of these are now being sold for redevelopment as the land has become
very valuable and the clubs are relocating to cheaper ground on the
outskirts of the city. This ground, Windsor Park, has remained in
its original location. It is home to Linfield. It is also the ground
where Northern Ireland play their home soccer matches although there
are now controversial plans for a new 'national' stadium for Northern
Ireland outside the city. |
